My clients, like their reasons for attending therapy, are diverse.
I specialize in working with teens and my areas of expertise include working with adolescents and their families as well as working with diverse populations and crisis stabilization. I also have expertise in working with individuals struggling with an addiction and/or a co-occurring disorder, have a history of trauma or have recently suffered a loss. In addition, I work with young adults in phase of life transitions and all individuals struggling with anxiety.
I have over eight years of experience working in community mental health settings with adolescents and their families. I also have over four years of experience working with individuals that suffer from severe and pervasive mental illness in a variety of treatment settings, which include partial hospitalization and residential facilities.
As a systems oriented therapist, in working with adolescents, I find that it is important to work closely with their families as well as their schools. I employ psychodynamic theories and interventions in my work with families and individuals and I often integrate cognitive behavioral tools in my treatment planning to continue to support each of my clients in their growth.
I am a member of the California Association of Marriage and Family Therapists (CAMFT), the American Association of Marriage and Family Therapists (AAMFT) and the American Psychological Association (APA).
